LICENSING AND CREDITS

An open-source foundation.
Our own extensions.

Dada Vibe Connector combines an original open-source foundation with our commercially licensed extensions. A purchased user license allows you to use the connector; it does not authorize redistribution of our extensions or inclusion in another product.

Our extensions

Our original Dada Vibe Connector contributions are commercially licensed. After purchase, one designated user may use a legitimately acquired version on up to two Macs, perpetually, for personal and commercial music creation. We claim no rights to your music or projects and no share of their revenue.

Using the app does not grant code redistribution rights

Without separate written permission from the licensor, you may not publish, offer for download, distribute, sublicense, rent, sell copies of or incorporate our protected extensions, including modified versions, into a product for others. Providing them to other users as a hosted service is also not permitted.

Necessary backups and compatibility modifications for your own licensed use remain allowed. These restrictions do not limit rights to third-party components or statutory exceptions and rights that cannot be waived. Previously valid license grants are not revoked retroactively.

Want to use our code in your product?

A separate business license is available for integration, redistribution or operating a service. The standard €9 plus applicable VAT user license does not include these rights.

Internal business use

For teams, we agree on the number of user licenses. Each user needs their own entitlement; one license is not shared across a team.

Integration into another product

A written agreement defines the code covered, the product and permitted use. Pricing is agreed individually as a one-time integration fee, potentially with a fee based on distributed copies or users.

Support and further development

Maintenance, new versions and custom development can be agreed separately. Code licensing fees do not apply to music created by an ordinary user.

Tell us which parts you want to use, in which product, whether for internal use, distribution or a service, and the expected number of users or copies. Rights are granted only through a separate license agreement.

This page explains the division of rights. The commercial license and the specific order or separate agreement define the exact scope; mandatory statutory rights take precedence.

Original Logic Pro MCP

Dada Vibe Connector includes the original Logic Pro MCP under the MIT license. Commercial terms for our own extensions do not restrict rights to the original MIT portions. Website comparisons use version 3.18.0 as the baseline.

Additional incorporated MIT code: Rubin

Our Standard MIDI File writer incorporates code from Rubin. The file server/rubin_smf.py derives from mrcolo/rubin, commit 04bf39e80cfa1afd479d57897e8f801010f21a03.
